Student Involvement...
The students and staff at Creekside Middle School are working together to create designs on tables that
were donated to us. Different classrooms in the school are working together to create unique tables. The families
at our school that need the extra support will benefit from the sales of the created tables. Our goal is to raise $10,000
to help needy families within our district.
In addition to some classrooms creating tables, our school also does 'table time' every Tuesday after school in the Art Room. Several students and staff members come during this time to help make the tables. On average 15-20 kids come after school to work on the tables. To see pictures of the tables, go to the Completed Tables page to see all the designs the students and staff have helped create. If you would like to suggest a design for the students and staff to create, please leave a message on our Contact Us page.
At our school, we also have been doing a 'Go Kind' challenge where we do nice things for people at our school and in our community. Each DEAR (Drop Everything and Read) classroom has completed a 'Go Kind' challenge and had it videotaped. After the video was completed, our school challenged Cityside Middle School, another middle school in the Zeeland Public School district to do a 'Go Kind' challenge. We also did a food drive for the Bridge Program in our city, and we helped donate canned goods to food pantries.
Our school is involved with the 'be nice.' program. We encourage being nice to each other, discourage bullying, and try and understand that we all can have bad days but try and stay mentally healthy. Here is a picture our whole school participated in last year where we formed the 'be nice.' letters on the soccer field behind our school.
